Bomat is a Belgian brand and manufacturer of bespoke luxury rugs, carpeted flooring and stairway runners.
Bomat is a family business, led by two sisters, who believe in taking responsibility and maintaining high standards.
With an in-house design & development team and our own manufacturing facilities in India, where we work with skilled weavers and tufters to bring the finest quality in textiles.

The most square pattern of them all. Rigid yet playful, the weave catches the light in ever-changing ways.

This design is characterised by a slender vertical line, set off darker against a lighter underground.
Again, a horizontal line hides in the background, less prominent but just as defining. Instead of a classic herringbone weave, we went for a simple twill with a diagonal weave in only one direction.

This design is based on softly contrasting colours that create a rhythm.
A geometric pattern of reclining rectangles that, while subtle, interacts with the steps of the staircase.
The weaving contributes to the creation of the motif, the action of the process still somehow perceptible. Threads overlap to create nuances of colour, combining elegance with comfort.

Appearing nearly monochrome from a distance, these runners combine colours that lean towards each other.
Their subtle, inherent rhythm is partly determined by the undertone of the vertical threads, the warp, and is thus an ode to the craft of weaving itself.

As well as its contrasting colours, this design also stands out for its texture.
This is achieved by replacing the wool with high quality hemp. The colours intermingle playfully to create a vibrant effect, which is further enhanced by the way the carpet is woven, a method that lingers in both look and feel.

The vertical lines in this design are both bold and graceful, running up and down the staircase, while a horizontal line is more subtle and deliberately reminiscent of the weaving process.

With its soft, luxurious sheen, this runner reveals the use of New Zealand wool.
The voluminous threads determine the feel and comfort. The broken twill, plays with traditions but not with conventions, giving the carpet a signature look.

The typical border, an archetype of the designs traditionally used to decorate a staircase carpet, has been given a twist here.
The result is that the border becomes a pattern in itself, where otherwise it is more of a distinctive accent. The different colours of the threads tend towards each other, the subtle contrasts are rather defined by the ways the yarns intertwine.
